Little Miss Sunshine

The Family that prays together stays together!

A film that talks about Family maybe sometimes very relatable for you most especially if the story is somewhat like the same as yours (Audience). In a traditional way, Ma and Pa is a must in establishing a film like this well of course with two or more offspring’s makes it more of an exciting and a happy family. Just like any other film Little Miss Sunshine follows in this tradition, that of the road trip.

If you watch this film and you are very much devoted to the teachings of the church you can see many acts and practices you want to object starting from a cocaine user and porn buyer Grandpa and a 15 year old brother (Dwayne) who has in use a be determined of silence and always wears a t-shirt “Jesus Was Wrong”, and an Auncle (Frank) a suicidal person after an affair with a male graduate student went bad.

However the main core of this film is the 7 – year- old girl Olive Hoover known to be a little chubby with huge glasses who dreams to become Miss America and involves herself in whatever beauty contest open to a 7 year old like her.
Though the film started with not really good in the eyes of the viewers such as the bad language, use of drug and porn you can see a very positive in the film that has good things to express. Little Miss Sunshine simply shows that love and family is the only thing that you can count on to get you through the hassle, struggle and pain in times of circumstances.

After watching the film I would say that Misc-en-scene is applied consistently because it is very well acted, written and directed. The roles are perfectly fits to the actors and actresses who give life to the movie. Starting from a depressed gay college professor plays by Steve Carell and a veteran actor Alan Arkin plays Grandpa, bitter about being evicted from his retirement home after being discovered dealing heroin. Greg Kinnear plays Richard Hoover, the dad of the two kids, who is desperately marketing a self-improvement program he’s come up with. Are you a winner? Or are you a loser? principle. However the Mother, Sheryl Hoover, is played perfectly by Toni Collette. She is the nurturer and peacemaker teetering on the edge of a nervous breakdown as she shepherds her family through, teen angst, financial strain and domestic disarray. Paul Dano is excellent as Olive’s brother.Like his father he also have his own principle the "I hate everybody" line. When Frank asks if he means his family, too, Dwayne casually underlines “everybody.”Peacefully in the middle is Olive, played perfectly by Abigail Breslin. For some reason, Olive and Grandpa are a team they accept each other unconditionally and together they train. Her Grandpa serves as her choreographer in whatever pageants come her way.

Moreover the actors and actresses who are doing good in the film  are also serves as the basis that a film very outstanding and worth watching for. Aside from the characters the set or the location where they shoot the movie is also commendable most especially the rocky mountain where the family passes gives a lively presentation due to its forms and shapes. I would also say that the production is doing their job very well since the shots are also  excellent it is consistent  starting from the beginning until the end of the film.
